Captain / Relief Captain

Summary Description
Vessel Captain, or the Relief Captain when acting in his or her capacity as Captain, is the Master as well as the Manager of the vessel. The Captain shall be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel and its tow, including, but not limited to the safe navigation and piloting of the vessel and its tow, the seaworthiness of the vessel and its Company owned tows, the safety of the crew and any passengers, protection of the environment, protection of the cargo or property of the charterer, charterer relations, bridge administration and paperwork, cost control, crew supervision and on the job training, and other responsibilities that may be assigned by the Company or that the Captain recognizes as essential to his/her responsibility as Master and Manager of the Vessel.

Qualifications and Experience
The Captain of a Company vessel shall be able to read and write English. Ability to also
read and write in Spanish is preferred, but not a required qualification. The Captain shall be able to render, understand and react to commands given in English. A valid driver's license is required. The captain shall possess an U.S. Merchant Mariner's document and a STCW training and certification booklet, as required by law. The Captain shall possess the proper license by the U.S.C.G. in for the type, tonnage, route and service of the vessel to which he is assigned. The Captain shall possess a FCC Marine Radio Operators Permit.

Chief Engineer / Relief Engineer

Summary Description
The Chief Engineer/Relief Engineer is responsible for operating and maintaining the engine room and other mechanical systems and equipment aboard the vessel to which he/she is assigned and its tow, for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel and its tow, including but not limited to compliance with flag state and classification society regulations, the seaworthiness of the vessel, the safety of the crew, protection of the environment, operational and maintenance administration and paperwork, cost control, crew supervision and on the job training, and other responsibilities that may be assigned by the vessel's Captain or that the Chief Engineer/Relief Engineer recognizes as essential to his/her responsibility as manager of the vessel's mechanical systems.

Qualifications and Experience
The Chief Engineer/Relief Engineer of a Company vessel shall be able to read and write English. Ability to also read and write in Spanish is preferred, but is not a required qualification. The Chief Engineer/Relief Engineer shall be able to render, understand and react to commands given in English. A valid driver's license is required. The Chief Engineer/Relief Engineer shall possess an U.S. Merchant Mariner's document and a STCW training and certification booklet, as required by law. The Chief Engineer/Relief Engineer shall possess the proper license by the USCG for the type, horsepower and service of the vessel to which he/she is assigned.

Mate

Summary Description
The Mate shall be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel and its tow, including, but not limited to the safe navigation and piloting of the vessel and its tow, the seaworthiness of the vessel and its Company owned tows, the safety of the crew and any passengers, protection of the environment, protection of the cargo or property of the charterer, charterer relations, bridge administration and paperwork, crew supervision and on the job training, and other responsibilities that may be assigned by the Captain/Relief Captain or that the Mate recognizes as essential to his/her responsibility to the Captain.

The Mate of a Company vessel shall be able to read and write English. Ability to also read and write in Spanish is preferred, but is not a required qualification. The Mate shall be able to render, understand, and react to commands given in English. A valid driver's license is required. The Mate shall possess an U.S. Merchant Mariner's document and a STCW training and certification booklet, as required by law. The Mate shall possess the proper license by the USCG for the type, tonnage, route and service of the vessel to which he/she is assigned. The Mate shall possess a FCC Marine Radio Operators Permit.

Barge Captain

Summary Description
The Barge Captain shall be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the tank barge to which is assigned, including its operation, its seaworthiness, its routine maintenance, the safety of its crew, protection of the environment, protection of the cargo or property of the charterer, charterer relations, cargo administration and paperwork, cost control, crew supervision and on the job training, and other responsibilities that may be assigned by his/her Master or Captain or that the Captain recognizes as essential to his/her responsibility as operator and manager of the barge

Qualifications and Experience
The Barge Captain of a Company tank barge shall be able to read and write English. Ability to also read and write in Spanish is preferred, but not a required qualification. The Barge Captain shall be able to render, understand and react to commands given in English. A valid driver's license is required. The Barge Captain shall possess an U.S. Merchant Mariner's document and a STCW training and certification booklet, as required by law. The Barge Captain shall possess the proper Able Bodied Seaman and Tankerman's Certification by the USCG in for the type, tonnage, route and service of the vessel to which he is assigned.

QMED/Oiler

Summary Description
The QMED/Oiler is responsible for operating and maintaining the engine room and other mechanical systems and equipment aboard the vessel to which he/she is assigned, and its tow.

Qualifications and Experience
The QMED/Oiler of a Company vessel shall be able to read and communicate in English. Ability to also read and write in Spanish is preferred, but is not a required qualification. The QMED/Oiler shall be able to render, understand and react to commands given in English. A valid driver's license is required. The QMED/Oiler shall possess an U.S. Merchant Mariner's document and a STCW training and certification booklet, as required by law. The QMED/Oiler shall possess the proper certification by the USCG for the type, horsepower and service of the vessel to which he/she is assigned.

Tankerman

Summary Description
The Tankerman shall be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the tank barge to which is assigned, including its operation and its routine maintenance, the protection of the environment, protection of the cargo or property of the charterer, charterer relations, and cargo paperwork. The tankerman shall also perform duties aboard the towing vessel aboard which he/she serves similar to those of an ordinary seaman, when so required by towing operations.

Tankerman shall be able to read and write English. Ability to also read and write in Spanish is preferred, but not a required qualification. The Tankerman shall be able to render, understand and react to commands given in English. A valid driver's license is required. The Tankerman shall possess an U.S. Merchant Mariner's document and a STCW training and certification booklet, as required by law, and a Tankerman's Certification by the USCG for the type and service of the vessel to which he/she is assigned.

Able Seaman / Ordinary Seaman / Deckhand

Summary Description
The position of Able Seaman (AB), Ordinary Seaman (OS), or Deck Hand (DH) is considered to be a manual laborer on the vessel, and is responsible for routine deck operations aboard the vessel, including maintaining the cleanliness of the vessel.

Qualifications and Experience
Able Seaman (AB), Ordinary Seaman (OS), or Deck Hand (DH) shall be able to read and write English or Spanish, and understand and react to commands from the vessel officers given in English. A valid driver's license is required. The individual shall possess an U.S. Merchant Mariner's document and a STCW training and certification booklet, as required by law. Able Seaman and Ordinary Seaman shall possess valid certification for their designations as issued by the United States Coast Guard and endorsed on their documents.
